Neil recently spent two days in downtown Chicago where he was one of five judges from around the US to judge the 2010 Master Design Awards from Qualified Remodeler magazine. While helicopters and movie cameras whirled outside the hotel filming the new Transformers 3 movie the panel slaved over 300+ entries in 22 categories.

It is quite an honor to be selected as a judge for this competition.  Neil took the job very seriously and did his best to give each entry the respect it deserved.  Projects entered in the competition ranged from construction details such as a floating stairway to a $28 million whole house renovation of a 40,000 square foot home!  Some of the highlights included a 75 foot curved pergola to a complete restoration of a Greene and Greene home in California.

It wasn’t easy, but in the end they had to pick one project as best in show.  The results will be revealed in the October issue of Qualified Remodeler.

Guild Quality announced the winners of their annual Guildmaster Awards and we are proud to say that we made the list!   Guildmaster awards are given to top remodeling companies from around the country that demonstrate that they have the ability to consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience. We work hard to deliver an exceptional remodeling experience and are proud that our clients recognize our efforts.

Guild Quality is an independent resource to measure client satisfaction.  Each of our clients are contacted twice by Guild Quality after the completion of their project and asked about their experience and how Crimson may improve  our service, product or experience.  We take all these comments to heart and use them in the future management of our company.  These interactions have offered us great insight into our process and have led to many refinements over the years.

This was our second consecutive Guildmaster Award.

Crimson Wins NARI Awards

Joel & I recently attended the Chicago NARI(National Association of the Remodeling Industry) presentation of the 2008 Remodeling Excellence Awards. We won three awards!

1st Place – Residential Addition $100k – $250k
1st Place – Residential Bathroom $60k and over
Honorable Mention – Residential Exterior under $100k
The addition was a family room and office we added to a home in Downers Grove. The bathroom was a master bedroom suite we created on the first floor of an existing home out of a living room and powder room. The exterior was a home in Naperville where we added stone to the front of the home, new windows, and new siding to the remaining parts.
Obviously we are very excited to have won these awards. When we are competing against our fellow NARI members it is never an easy thing to win.
Our thank you to all that helped in this process – - from the homeowners to our trade partners – - we owe it all to you.
