For the fourth consecutive year Crimson Design and Construction has been awarded a 2012 Guildmaster Award for exceptional customer satisfaction.

Crimson uses GuildQuality, an independent surveying company, to measure the satisfaction of our clients and to find areas for improvement in our service. GuildQuality collects feedback directly from customers and reports back to the building professional through a web-based service.

“We realize that remodeling your home can be one of the most stressful projects you’ll ever undertake. It’s our goal to minimize that stress and give our clients not only the best quality remodeling project but do it with the least stressful process possible. We thank all our past clients that have made this award possible and for recognizing our efforts,” said Neil Kristianson.

With our 82% response rate we are very thankful to our clients who take the time to tell us what areas they feel we have succeeded in and what areas they feel were not up to their expectations. We currently have a 99% recommendation rate, and we work hard to maintain this level of competence from our clients, after all, we are guests in someone’s home and their project is just as important to us as it is to them!

Experiencing Artist Anthony Snape

Aussie native Anthony Snape will be performing a private invitation-only show at Neil’s home on August 25th. Snape is a pop-rock performer whose songs have been played on shows including General Hospital, ABC News and The Biggest Loser.

Neil and his wife, Jennine, became involved with Snape when they met him as Tommy Emmanuel’s opening act late last year. Since then Jennine has remained in touch with Snape via Twitter. Jennine “worked her magic” according to Neil to get Snape to travel from Nashville to Illinois to perform a tent show in their backyard.

Are you impressed? We at the office are!

Neil and Jennine have used this opportunity to raise funds for the Kendall County Food Pantry. Neil said, “For every dollar we raise on the 25th, the Kendall County Food Pantry can purchase six dollars worth of food! They really are amazing at what they do and we would love to present them with a $500 check (or more) from our ‘little party’!”

Jennine also worked with Oswego Community Relations Coordinator Michele Bergeron to have the award-winning musician play at Oswego Concert In The Park in August.

Snape will take the stage at noon Sunday, August 26th in Hudson Crossing Park, 65 N. Harrison, located on the north corner of Washington and Harrison streets in downtown Oswego.

Bergeron said, “We were excited for the opportunity to bring an international recording artist to downtown Oswego. We also felt that our residents would truly enjoy his music and this experience.”

At age 17, Snape moved from his small town to Sydney to pursue his musical career. There he played the club and bar scene and recorded his first CD, Disappearing Day. During that time he also received many awards from the Australian press, including Acoustic Artist of the Year and Best Pop Artist.

Since then Snape has moved to Nashville and performed hundreds of shows in the United States as Tommy Emmanuel’s opening act.

Snape is currently working on his fifth album. He draws inspiration from artists such as Crowded House, Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas, and Coldplay.

Form your own opinion of Anthony Snape by listening to his music and reading about him on his website. You can also follow him on Twitter @anthonysnape. For more information about the Oswego Concert in the Park Series click here.

Crimson Honored For Business Excellence

On March 15th Crimson received an award for business excellence from the Daily Herald Business Ledger. Crimson was honored along with nineteen other suburban businesses during the 22nd Annual Awards for Business Excellence program.

The ceremony was held at the Stonegate Conference Center in Hoffman Estates. Approximately 165 community business leaders were at the event.

Crimson was selected for this award for several reasons; well thought out business systems, the flexibility to adapt to a ‘new’ economy, and our community involvement.

While accepting the award on behalf of Crimson Design & Construction, company co-owner Neil Kristianson acknowledged the hard work of the Crimson team that allows Crimson to not only survive but thrive in this ‘new’ economy. He also spoke of the legacy Crimson is creating in Naperville not only through the many examples of improved homes throughout town, but also by their community involvement.

It’s always nice to have your hard work recognized by someone. Winning an award as prestigious as this is even better! Our thanks to The Daily Herald Business Ledger!

While Crimson was not the winner of the Business-to-Consumer category, we were selected as a Finalist! This was Crimson’s first nomination and we feel like a true winner for being nominated alongside several outstanding small businesses in the community.

Crimson was recently selected as one of the Top 500 Remodelers in the country as selected by Qualified Remodeler Magazine.

It’s always an honor to be selected for this list.  The annual list is published each year and recognizes firms on six criteria;  sales volume, years in business, association membership, certifications, awards and community service.

Crimson was selected as number 493 on the list which is still quite an achievement for a company of our size.  The number is not as important to us as is the recognition of our industry peers.  We continue to offer great service to our clients and it’s nice to be acknowledged for our efforts!

Neil Judges Qualified Remodeler Master Design Awards

Neil recently spent two days in downtown Chicago where he was one of five judges from around the US to judge the 2010 Master Design Awards from Qualified Remodeler magazine. While helicopters and movie cameras whirled outside the hotel filming the new Transformers 3 movie the panel slaved over 300+ entries in 22 categories.

It is quite an honor to be selected as a judge for this competition.  Neil took the job very seriously and did his best to give each entry the respect it deserved.  Projects entered in the competition ranged from construction details such as a floating stairway to a $28 million whole house renovation of a 40,000 square foot home!  Some of the highlights included a 75 foot curved pergola to a complete restoration of a Greene and Greene home in California.

It wasn’t easy, but in the end they had to pick one project as best in show.  The results will be revealed in the October issue of Qualified Remodeler.
